Progress Update 2

It's time for another progress update!

What you need to write about: (This post needs to be very detailed since you will be getting graded for this.)

1. Mathematical Methods
  • How did you "generalize?"
  • How did you set up your axes when graphing?
  • How did you organize your data into different tables?

2. Mathematical Vocabulary
  • When writing your new post, use proper mathematical vocabulary.
3. Process and Solution
  • Clearly communicate your findings. What did you discover when you put all your findings together?

  1. I generalized by following the same rules and using variables to make things 5 times as much and 3 times as much. I can use any number to make the box bigger or smaller this way. When it was time to graph I took a look at my tables to figure out my minimum and maximum values. I then planned a scale and checked it on a calculator by graphing the function and checking the graphs appearence. I adjusted the window settings by changing the X and Y scales.
When organizing my data into different tables we simply had a different table for each of our functions. Each table had the X and Y values.
Our results showed that the function (130-4x)(x)(x) has the maximum valume out the four funtions that we graphed. The maximum value was 20342 cubic inches. This box was 1 time as big.

  2. 1. When x is 7 I added 10 to get the height. Then to get the girth I multiple 2 by width plus 2 by height. After I found the girth, I moved on to the length which I subtract the total – girth. Then I found the volume by multiplying length by height by weigh. Y= (165-(4x + 20) – (x+10) – x.
    2. We found the maximum point then we graph x= height and the y= volume.
    3. I don’t get what you are asking me in question number 3.

  4. I think I've talked to you already, maybe except for Bria, that these comments are supposed to be your posts on your own blogs.
