You will be naming your team after a famous activist. An activist is a person who brings about political or social change through the policy or action of using vigorous campaigning. For example, your team may be, "Team Jane Goodall."
Skim through the following websites and, as a team, pick someone you like and the quote. That should go on your title page later on, so write the person and the quote down as a new post on your blog.
I may talk to you further about naming your team if, for some reason, your team name needs to be changed.

Extra credit
I hope everyone's enjoying the break. Here's the extra credit task.
Look up the shipping supplies from USPS website, and see if there are any boxes that have the same dimensions. If so, what are the dimensions and its volume? If not, what are some boxes that have similar dimensions and volumes?
How to post your response: post your answer NOT as comments here, but as a new post in your own blog.

Time for break... until the extra credit assignment
I'm glad that you've learned how to use blogger and Google Reader this past week. You deserve a break... but there will be an extra credit assignment posted on my blog. Don't forget to check your Google Reader for it.
11.1 Exit Slip
- If you are following people in Google Friends, are you also following their blogs?
- If you were to comment on someone's post, how would they know that you commented on their post?
11.4 Exit Slip
- If I were to comment on your post, how would you know that you received a comment?
- If you comment back, how would that person know that you commented back?

Your comment on the project
One of your comments was asking when Community Box Maker project will actually start. This is a very good question!
We will start the project as soon as we're done with learning how to effectively and efficiently use blogging/commenting, and the last step is this: Google Reader. This Google Reader collects all the blog posts that you're following and put them all in one place so you don't have to type in twenty different URLs every time you want to read the posts published by your classmates.

11.1 is on their way!
Today, we set up 10 students' blogs in 11.1. Two down, two more classes to get started on blogging. Also, more comments have started streaming in. They were valuable comments about starting to use this new tool and how it might or might not be helpful. My general comment back to those were, "Once we start our Community Box Maker project and you read and comment on what others are thinking and wondering about the project, you will start seeing the value of using this great tool."
In 11.4, we started following at least 10 others and commenting.

First Day of Community Box Maker Project
Almost all students came to class, prepared with her or his own Google account. Great start! Laptops had some minor problems getting online for a couple of students, but for the most part, we're on our way with 11.4.
